After breakfast, depart Moshi early in the morning with your guide/driver, who will be your constant companion throughout your safari, for Tarangire National Park with your picnic lunch boxes.

Tarangire National Park, gazetted in 1970, is 118 km away from Arusha town, which covers an area of 2600 sq km, which is about 1600 miles. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River which flows through the center of the park. The river flows from south to northwest and empties its water in Lake Burungi. Spend the day in the park observing game such as elephant, wildebeest, zebra and buffalo as they journey back and forth to the Tarangire River, an important source of water in the area. An exceptional of “Acacia tortilis” and baobab trees has become synonymous with the name Tarangire National Park.

Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park (Central Seronera)

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a half-day drive across Tanzania’s heartland, passing red-robed Maasai herding their cattle as well as the Olduvai Gorge, where the oldest hominid fossil was discovered by Dr. Louis Leakey and his wife Mary, along the way. Arrive at the famous Serengeti National Park in time for an afternoon game drive, enjoying a blaze orange sunset as you head to camp. Spend the next full days rising early to catch the wildlife, enjoying the view of lions sauntering past you and leopards watching you from their perch in the trees during the early morning hours.

The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration when some six million hooves pound the open plains as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers an amazing game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of elands, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle.

Day 4: Full-day Serengeti National Park (Central)

This is another full-day game drive at Serengeti National Park, known for its healthy population of resident wildlife, particularly the “big five,” named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters:

African Elephant: the herds are recovering from population lows in the 1980s caused by poaching and are largely located in the northern regions of the park.

Lion: The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem.
African Buffalo: considered by many to be the most dangerous of the big five, reportedly causing the most hunter deaths, with wounded animals reported to ambush and attack pursuers.

Rhinoceros: this may refer to either black or white rhinoceros. Among Big Five game hunters, the black rhinoceros is preferred, although it is now critically endangered.

African Leopard: these reclusive predators are commonly seen in the Seronera region but are present throughout the national park with a population of around 1,000.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Ngorongoro was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It also safeguards the interests of indigenous people and promotes tourism. Then, after spending several hours of game viewing in the crater, you will start driving back to Karatu town for the overnight.

In the late noon hours, we will depart and drive back to Arusha. On the way to Arusha, you will also get a chance to pass through Maasai Market if you are interested in buying your last souvenirs as a sign of remembrance.
