7 Days Safari Ngorongoro Tarangire and Serengeti

Northern safari Itinerary: 7 days Cultural and Safari

Highlights

Day 1: Arrive Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) or after descending from the mountain, you will be greeted and transferred by our friendly guides and drivers to a nearby hotel to rest and relax after the long international flight. While enjoying a leisurely dinner, notice the sounds and smells of Africa all around you. Overnight Arusha.

Day 2/3: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha with your guide, who will be your constant companion throughout your safari, for Tarangire National Park. Spend the next two days in the park observing game such as elephant, wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo as they journey back and forth to the Tarangire River, an important source of water in the area. Overnight Tarangire

Day 4/6: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a half-day drive across Tanzania’s heartland, passing red-robed Maasai herding their cattle as well as the Olduvai Gorge, where the oldest hominid fossil was discovered, along the way. Arrive at the famous Serengeti National Park in time for an afternoon game drive, enjoying the blaze orange sunset as you head to camp. Spend the next two full days rising early to catch the wildlife in peak activity during the early morning hours. After time to relax in the afternoon, journey out as the sun starts to set for an afternoon game drive. Swap stories with fellow safari-goers in camp over hearty dinners and fall asleep to the sounds of African bush all around you.

Day 7: Ngorongoro

The drive to the gorge is breathtaking—passing through a spectacular mix of savannah grassland and volcanic hills, where red-robed Maasai graze their cattle before it drops steeply down into the gorge itself. Olduvai is one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological locations.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

Today you’ll experience firsthand what has been called “one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.” The crater is home to an amazing concentration and diversity of wildlife, perhaps most importantly the rare black rhinoceros. Drive down the steep walls of the crater, arriving at the crater floor in time for lunch, viewing wildlife the whole time.

Day 9: Departure:

After breakfast, drive to Moshi, stopping at local markets and the popular Meserani Snake Park along the way. Purchase your final gifts, take your last photos and remember fondly what an amazing safari you’ve just had in Africa. Also, if you have the time it will be the best chance for you to have a town tour and get a chance to visit the house of special needs groups nearby, with which we share a certain percentage of what we earn.
