Allen-Mato

ALEN A. MATO

Owner, Operations Manager, and Mt. Kilimanjaro Guide

Alen is a native of Tanzania, having grown up at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. His childhood, surrounded by family members involved in mountain climbing, including brothers, uncles, and relatives, sparked his interest in the sport.

During a vacation in 2010, he made his first attempt to climb a mountain after persuading his father and uncle to allow him to go. He chose the Marangu route for his climb, and while he was passionate about reaching the summit, he unfortunately did not achieve it on that attempt.

After graduating in 2011, Alen worked as a personal porter and successfully reached the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. With over 10 years of experience guiding, he has served as both an assistant and a lead guide. Despite his role as the operations manager, Alen is excited to guide you on your first or next adventure.
